The zapper was a weapon created and used by the Technos. Worn around the wrist, it fired laser beams at the target. With several settings, it delivered a wide range of damage capacity, from stun settings that would incapacitate a target to stronger settings that could kill them. It could be collectively programmed and controlled through computer software.

The strength of the laser beam could be set on the zapper. The settings were a range of numbers. Ved fired a stun with the setting seven at Lex, which rendered him unconscious for a while, but according to Jay was enough to stun a buffalo.
