Hope Island is a small island located by the bay near the city. It was originally a prison but was turned into a research facility by a company called Pandorax.

History[]

Pre Tribe[]

Hope island skeleton

According to Bray, Hope Island was originally a prison exactly 100 years ago. The prisoners themselves gave the island the name, with Amber commenting that the convicts have a sense of humor. Eventually the prison closed and it was turned into a research facility. The island had been strictly off-limits since the closing of the prison. [1]

After it became off-limits, many rumours of the island circulated such as germ warfare, animal experiments and even being haunted. [2]

But the reality is that the island had simply been turned into a research facility by a company called Pandorax, that was working on an anti-aging project. The Mall Rats found this information and pieced it together when searching government buildings, it was never broadcasted to the world as it was top secret. [3]

Series 1[]

Hope Island

Bray, Lex, Amber and Dal, along with Bob the Dog leave the Mall in search of answers.

Once on Hope Island they find the building, but it is surrounded by mines. Slowly making their way through the minefield, they are able to infiltrate the building, finding skeletons of the adults who died there.

Unfortunately in their quest for answers, they set off an alarm system and have to quickly escape as a countdown ensues. They make it to mainland, only to turn and see the building blow up. They were able to escape with several tubes containing the Antidote, but had not known if it would work. [4]

Trivia[]
