Eagle Mountain is a mountain located about 20-30 miles away from the Mall. It is 2267 metres high.
History[]
Series 1[]
After the virus returned, a group of the Mall Rats searched for answers and an antidote. When trying to decrypt computer files found on Hope Island, Jack found several references to the word eagle, and one time it was followed by the code 322:966. Dal suggested they might be map coordinates, and they located Eagle Mountain on a map. Simultaneously, Tai-San had a dream about a mountain and an eagle.[1]
Despite Amber and Zandra's objections, all the Mall Rats minus Bray started a journey to Eagle Mountain the next morning. On the road, they met a group of men who threatened to kill them unless they turned around.[2] After being tipped off by a message written by Trudy on a mirror in the Mall, Bray arrived with Ebony in the Locos' bus and drove through the barricade of men. The bus broke down by a river, and they had to walk the rest of the way. As Jack lost his map and compass at the barricade, they had to follow Tai-San's spiritual bearing.[3]
Arriving at Eagle Mountain they find an observatory which tracks a satellite. Soon, some of the Mall Rats want to disband, Lex and Zandra plan on going over the mountains to see what is there, Jack and Tai-San plan on staying at the Observatory and Bray tries to slip away unnoticed. It is on Eagle Mountain that Amber and Bray finally realise how they feel about each other (with the help of Lex). [4]
Series 2[]
Soon after the Mall Rats receive the message from the satellite, an explosion occurs at the Observatory and the Mall Rats barely escape with their lives. Tragically, Amber and Zandra die in the explosion and the Mall Rats lay them both to rest on the side of the mountain. [5]
Series 3[]
In Series 3 it is discovered by Lex, Bray and Dal that Amber may still be alive and the burial was all a trick. Dal returns to Eagle Mountain to find out the truth about his friend, followed by Bray and Lex. Amber was tricked by Ebony into pretending to be dead, and was found with concussion by Pride on Eagle Mountain and he brought her to the Ecos. [6]
When Dal dies, he is buried near Eagle Mountain. [7] Jack later visits the grave site to mourn Dal, having been a prisoner of The Chosen when Dal died. [8]
Series 4[]
Ram was shown to be visiting Eagle Mountain at the start of the Techno Invasion, but for unknown reasons that aren't revealed until The Tribe: A New World. [9]
Series 5[]
Although they don't return to Eagle Mountain, Trudy and Amber both look upon it from a distance as Amber recalls memories of Bray when she places his items on a tree after believing he was dead. [10]
The Tribe: A New World[]
After the Mall Rats escape the Virus Mark II and are stranded on an island, Ram reveals the Technos were briefly apart of The Collective before they broke away to conquer the Mall Rat's City. At the start of the Techno invasion, Ram actually visited Eagle Mountain to retrieve the Paradise Headsets, revealing that the technology originated from there. He discovered this information during his time with The Collective and believes there are many similar bases around the world like Eagle Mountain with similar technology.
The Tribe: A New Dawn[]
The Observatory in Eagle Mountain is shown to be more important than what is initially was thought to be. The advanced technologies inside the place are highly sought out by The Collective. It is revealed that the Observatory has at least three levels that the Mall Rats previously missed. Amber and Jack believe that the explosion which took Zandra's life might not be an accident, as the satellite message was interrupted before it mentioned Levels 2 and 3.
Level 2 can only be accessed by pinning a code on Level 1's wall, which opens the doorway. Upon entering the room, an announcement plays that reveals that the surviving kids are instructed to give the Antidote to the sleeping adult technicians, who are in Hibernation Chambers. The Headsets are also here which were originally supposed to be used by the adults to contact each other globally, but Ram took them and remade them as Paradise Headsets. Ram explains that when he got to Eagle Mountain, the technicians were already dead. He also stole the Hibernation technology for his own Sleeping Pod that he intended to use at the end of Series 4.
Level 3 was previously only known to Ram and can only be accessed by typing a numbered code in the Level 2 computers. The room has a giant computer system called K.A.M.I (Knowledge Artificial Machine Intelligence) which houses an advanced AI that beams a light to scan and identify a person's face. Hibernation Chambers are also in the room which had 38 sleeping adults, but they were killed by Eloise when she unplugged them from the main system. One of the chambers had a Golden Hard Drive containing the secrets of the adults, which Ram managed to find. But the drive requires a special plug to access that is not seen anywhere else.
The Tribe: (R)Evolution[]
Unable to crack the data on the Golden Hard Drive, Ram, Jack, Ellie and Lex return to Eagle Mountain to ask the K.A.M.I Computer for more information it. But they discover someone had taken away the Hibernation Pods with the frozen adults, which is revealed to be the forces of The Collective who have started to invade the city. They flee for their lives before they could investigate further.
The Mall Rats finally meet The Collective leader, Cami, in their base called Eden. It's revealed there is a prototype K.A.M.I computer in Eden while the Eagle Mountain one is a newer version. Cam's mother had played a huge role in the development of the K.A.M.I computers and named it after her daughter. Cami's mother had also been possibly shortlisted to be preserved in Hibernation Chambers, but she isn't in the pods at Eden or Eagle Mountain. This leaves Cami to believe her mother might be stored elsewhere. Cami also reveals that a Collective party had indeed taken the Eagle Mountain adult units, who are confirmed dead and buried in Eden.
After all these events and unbeknownst to everyone, the Eagle Mountain K.A.M.I computer suddenly gives off the voice of Cami's mother, who might be alive somewhere.
