A member of Ebony’s militia, Axl only took orders from her and went she disappeared, refused to protect the Mall Rats. He led the mob to the Mall after believing the Mall Rats had conned them concerning the Antidote. [1]
When Ebony moved to the hotel and took her militia with her, Axl saw himself as the entry guard for Jack. [2] But he refused to allow Ellie to enter to see Jack. [3]
Axl immediately clashes with an angry Alice when he encounters her out on the City streets, his comments about herself and Lex resulting in him being punched by her. Axl arrests her for disturbing the peace and brings her to the hotel, but Ebony quickly pardons her. [4]
When the Chosen begin their invasion of the City, Axl is forced to defect alongside all the others. [5] Ebony sneaks back into the hotel, and after cornering Axl, she asks him about aiding her in her fight against them, but Axl does not seem eager to turn on the new status quo. Instead, Ebony uses him as a distraction, knocking him out cold and using the opportunity to rescue an imprisoned Alice. It is assumed he had died as he did not appear anymore after that. [6]
